Habitat seeks family for home

From Staff Reports
Habitat for Humanity is currently looking to make home ownership a reality for a Unicoi County family that meets the organizations guidelines – and that family could be yours.
Habitat for Humanity of Unicoi County will be hosting “Avenues for Affordable Housing,” an informational open house meeting for individuals and families interested in learning how to become a Habitat for Humanity homeowner.
The meeting will be held at Erwin Town Hall, 211 North Main Ave., Tuesday, July 17, from 5 to 7 p.m. Board members from the organization will be on hand to answer questions and explain the process of Habitat for Humanity home construction.
“Habitat for Humanity of Unicoi County was established in 2004 and since that time has constructed two new homes for qualified families in Unicoi County. The HfHUC Board of Directors is dedicated to beginning construction of the third home in 2012,” said Amanda Delp, public relations chairman for HfHUC. “We just simply need to find a qualified family for the home and we hope this meeting will allow us the opportunity to do so.”
“The structure of the meeting will be an informal drop-in format, where those that attend can talk one-on-one with Habitat Board members,” added Delp.
