Gubernatorial candidate’s visit to Unicoi County rescheduled

A planned visit by Republican gubernatorial candidate Bill Haslam will be rescheduled due to inclement weather.
Kristen Gaines, chairwoman of the Unicoi County Republican Party, said Haslam’s visit will be scheduled again, but she did not have a new date at this time.
Haslam, the mayor of Knoxville, was scheduled to be part of a meet-and-greet event at Erwin Town Hall Thursday, Jan. 7, at 6:30 p.m.
Haslam is president of the Pilot Corp. He is a graduate of Emory University.
The Unicoi County Republican Party is working with each Republican gubernatorial campaign to schedule meet and greets over the coming months so citizens can meet the individuals running for the state’s highest office.
A meet-and-greet with Lt. Gov. Ron Ramsey, also a candidate for the Republican nomination, was held in 2009 in Unicoi County.
