Free Healthcare set in County this weekend

Registration for the Remote Area Medical Health Expedition begins at 6 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, and free health-care services will be provided that day and Sunday, Aug. 15.
Health care services will be provided at the Unicoi County High School, free of charge, on a first-come, first-served basis.
Unicoi County Mayor Greg Lynch stressed the importance of arriving early, and said the service is important to Unicoi residents without insurance.
“It is well worth the investment in time to get up early and go,” Lynch said. “It is a very important service to Unicoi Countians without the ability to have insurance.”
Lynch said he was told that potential patients should not show up at the high school before 4 p.m. Friday. Those wanting to services can receive numbers as early as 3 a.m on Aug. 14 for Saturday services.
