Flooding to hasten UCSD’s relocation

A fire and another bout of flooding inside the Unicoi County Jail brought Unicoi County Sheriff Mike Hensley before the Unicoi County Building and Grounds Committee to discuss the timeline for the move of his administration to the jail annex on Monday.
“Approximately a week ago, we had a shake down over at the jail,” Hensley said. “We had information there were weapons … These items, they were having to use hot water to heat. They … actually started a fire.”
Hensley said they were able to get information linking two inmates to the fire and those inmates were charged with arson and destruction of county property.
“Of course, when we did that, we made everybody mad and they flooded the jail,” Hensley said.
“The water came down and it was dripping on the computers.”
