Fisher, Foster win seats on Unicoi County Board of Education

The unofficial results for the Aug. 6 Unicoi County General Election are in.

According to the results shared by the Unicoi County Election Commission, two seats on the Unicoi County Board of Education from district two went to incumbent Glenn Fisher, who received 816 votes, and Allan Foster, who received 769 votes. 

Michael Baker came in third in the race for school board with 426 votes.


Teresa Tipton Kinsler, who ran unopposed in the election, will retain the position of assessor of property in Unicoi County.

On Aug. 6, Unicoi County saw a turnout of 32.87 percent. Of that 32.87 percent of voters, 1,881 votes were from early voters, 1,358 voters voted on Aug. 6 and 287 voters voted by absentee ballots.
