ETSU gears to entrepreneurs

The Tennessee Small Business Development Center
(TSBDC) at East Tennessee State University will offer
potential entrepreneurs several training classes in October.
Registration is required for all classes, and every
session is free for the general public, ETSU faculty, staff
and students. The classes will be held at the ETSU Innovation
Laboratory, 2109 W. Market St.
“Social Media” will be offered on Wednesday, Oct. 16,
from 9 a.m.-noon. The topics discussed will include the
basics of social media, including the top fi ve social media
sites and how to use them. Participants will learn how to
develop a social media strategy for their businesses.
“Website 101” will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 22, from
9 a.m.-noon. The workshop is designed to help participants
begin working on a small business website. Among
the topics will be establishing a purpose of the website,
the importance of domain names and how to obtain
them, website navigation, design, content, and improvement
of search engine optimization. Wireless internet
access is available.
