Erwin blood drive collects 37 units

The Erwin Community Blood Drive for the American Red Cross was held Friday, Nov. 12, at First Christian Church Fellowship Hall.
The quota for the drive was 40 productive units of blood. Thirty-one people applied to donate and 37 units were collected.
The door prize, a dinner for two to Toby’s Rock Creek Cafe, was won by Dave Roberts.
Donors at this drive were David Eunson, Paul Motti, Bill Ponder, Carolyn McCurry, Nick Senn, Brenda Ponder, Alan Rogers, James Holder, Martha Rice, Judy O’Gorman, Paul Comstock, Tammy Ray, James O’Gorman, Gary Chandler, Paulette Farnor, Beverly Wilson, Chris Heglar, Melissa Gaddy, Bea Buck, Erica Harris, Jill Tipton, Gary McCormick, Dave Roberts, Rachel Baucom, Kenny Smith, Marie Phillips, Heather Reams, Cassie Smith, Faye Moore, Gordon Moughon and Steve Flack.
Erwin Presbyterian Church furnished the food for the canteen of this drive, as a service to the community.
The next Erwin Community Blood Drive will be held Friday, Jan. 14, 2011, at First Christian Church Fellowship Hall, 312 S. Main Ave., from 12:30-5:30 p.m.
