Domino’s Pizza will soon call Erwin home.

According to Domino’s Pizza franchisee Bryan Hamilton, the former Sonic building located at 202 North Main Ave. in Erwin, will be the new location for the national pizza chain.

“We are excited to come to Erwin,” Hamilton said. “When I first came off of the interstate to scout the location, I fell in love. You have mountains, the river and so many friendly faces in Erwin. I knew this is where we wanted to be.”

Hamilton announced that construction on the site could be complete by the end of the year.

“We are hoping to open at the first of December,” Hamilton said. “It really depends on how busy our subcontractors are and weather may play a factor for that time frame.”

According to Hamilton, the Erwin Domino’s will have a drive thru and outdoor seating should be available following the opening date.

“We will have a drive up window. We will do delivery and carryout and we hope to add outdoor seating after we are open on the right side of the building,” Hamilton said. “We have a location in Greenville and it has been a very successful venture so we look forward to serving Erwin.”

Hamilton also announced that hiring would take place soon.

“We are looking to hire 20-25 people for our staff and we are looking to hire starting the first of November,” Hamilton said.

The Erwin Domino’s will give late night diners a place to visit.

“We plan on being open Sunday through Thursday, 10 a.m. until midnight, and 10 a.m. until 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday,” Hamilton said.

Hamilton is eager to become part of the Erwin community.

“I look forward to building relationships for the community, the schools and the churches in Erwin,” Hamilton said. “We really want to become a good neighbor to all of the citizens of Unicoi County.”
