CSX Transportation has announced upcoming closures for railroad crossings in need of repair in Erwin and Johnson City.
According to a public service announcement released by the CSX Traffic Control Division, the repairs necessitate rerouting traffic. Signage will be in put into place to clearly mark detour routes.
All crossings will generally be closed anywhere from two to five days. This can change, with or without notice, due to unforeseen circumstances. Inclement weather could cause track maintenance delays or rescheduling. Motorists are advised to please be prepared for delays and extended travel times.
In Erwin, the crossing at 2nd Street between N. Main Avenue and N. Industrial Drive will be closing on/around Wednesday, Sept. 22.
Crossings in Johnson City are Highridge Road between Hummingbird Lane and Garland Way, as well as Price Road/Five Oaks Drive off S. Roan Street. Both of these crossings will close on/around Monday, Sept 20.
