Conservatory students to present Seussical

Jonesborough Repertory Theatre will cap its 2012 summer conservatories as theater arts students present the colorful musical Seussical.
Students with JRTs Musical Theatre Conservatory will offer Musical Theatre Internationals Seussical by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, based on the works of Dr. Seuss Friday and Saturday, July 20-21 at 11 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., according to a press release.

The release notes that the musical theater conservatory offers advanced and beginning students a two-week, intensive theater arts experience filled with dance, music, scenic design, acting and more.
A number of Theodor Seuss Geisels beloved characters are featured in Seussical Jr.
Among them, the release notes, are the Cat in the Hat, Horton the Elephant, Jojo, an ordinary boy and Who, Gertrude McFuzz, Sour Kangaroo, the citizens of Whoville, the Wickersham brothers, the Grinch and many more.
The cast and crew of Seussical Jr. include: Magnus Allen, Kailee Amburgey, Makenna Arnold, Michael Brister, Annika Burley, Megan Dudgeon, Christina Fulcher, Molly Gaines, Magda Gaines, Aiyvan Gilbert, Mackenzie Glover, Emma Lowe, Kevin OBryan, Raelyn Roberts, Tatum Spears, Lily Stelzer, and Maya Stelzer. Assistant director is Janette Gaines. Music director is Tatum Spears, assisted by Lucas Schmidt. The shows lighting designer is Aaron Bradley. Production assistant is April Roberts.
