Commodity distribution scheduled

The Upper East Tennessee Human Development Agency will begin a commodity distribution Jan. 19 at the National Guard Armory at 615 S. Main St. in Erwin.
Distribution will begin at 9 a.m. and end at 3 p.m. or earlier, if commodities are no longer available.
Items will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis to income-eligible households until commodities are gone.
All recipients must be residents of Tennessee, and must have a commodity ID card in order to pick up commodities. An ID card is obtained by completing an application at the Neighborhood Service Center.
If someone is picking up your commodities, they must have your ID card with their name on the card authorizing them to do so. Staff will be available during the distribution to help those who have not already done so obtain an ID card. Pickups are limited to five orders.
Those picking up commodities need to bring a paper bag or box to carry goods.
For information, call the Neighborhood Service Center, 743-4103, or contact the staff at 109 Gay St., Erwin, before Jan. 18.
