Commodity distribution is Sept. 15

The Upper East Tennessee Human Development Agency will distribute commodities Sept. 15 at the National Guard Armory in Erwin, 615 South Main Ave.
Items will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis to income-eligible households until all commodities are gone.
All recipients must be residents of Tennessee, and each must have a new, blue, commodity ID card in order to pick up commodities. If someone is picking up your commodities, they must have your ID card with their name on the card authorizing them to do so. Pickup limit is five orders.
An ID card is obtained by completing an application at the Neighborhood Service Center, 109 Gay St., Erwin. Call the center at 743-4103 with questions or to set an appointment for an interview. Staff will also be available during the distribution to help those without an ID card to obtain one.
The distribution begins at 9 a.m. and will end at 3 p.m. or earlier, if foodstuff is no longer available. Those picking up commodities should bring a paper bag or box in which to put the foodstuff.
