Board collects bids on Love Chapel site plan

Bids for the Love Chapel site are being sought by the Unicoi County Board of Education and are expected back by around April 11.
Unicoi County Board of Education Director Denise Brown said she would like to have something for the board to vote on by April 18.
“We’re looking on the timeline that the bids be back by April 11 and taking something to the board by April 18 and sooner if we can,” Brown said.
Once a bid is chosen, it will be reviewed.
“We’ll make sure everything is in accordance with everything in the bid,” Brown said. “That will go back to the board to be approved before anything can be done.”
Brown is confident relocation costs are to be reimbursed by the insurance company, but until more information is gathered a total cost for all aspects of the relocation of Love Chapel remains unclear.
“As far as the relocation costs, that clause is in the policy … that’s pretty much a done deal,” Brown said about the reimbursement. “I’ve said since the beginning that it’s going to be a lengthy process with insurance.”
Information from the insurance company is still being assessed through the proper channels, Brown said.
