Blood drive exceeds goal

The Erwin Community Blood Drive, which was held Friday, July 8, at First Christian Church Fellowship Hall, is being called ‘very successful’ by the drive organizers.
Forty-seven people applied to donate, with 52 units of blood collected, exceeding the goal for this drive, which had been set at 40 productive units. Six of the donors were first-time donors.

Heather Holcombe won the drawing for dinner for two at Toby’s Cafe.
Centenary United Methodist Church furnished the food for the canteen at this drive, as a service to the community.
The next Erwin Community Blood Drive will be held Friday, Sept. 9, at First Christian Church Fellowship Hall, 312 S. Main Ave., Erwin., from 12:30-5:30 p.m.
