2 downtown Erwin events slated

The Downtown Merchants Association continues to plan events for the historic shopping district.
Events are planned for the next two weekends.
On Saturday, Sept. 18, merchants will host a sidewalk sale from 1-6 p.m.
There will be live music, and, at Hawg ’n’ Dawg BBQ and Coneys, there will be face painting.
In addition to special savings at downtown businesses, several prizes can be won, including Hawg ’n’ Dawg T-shirts, dinner for two at Choo-Choo Café, a savings bond from Mountain Commerce Bank, a free gift from Roller Pharmacy and gift certificate drawings at Plant Palace, Ace Hardware, Main Street Mall, Forever a Diva, Variety Antique Shop, Valley Beautiful Mall and Keesecker’s.
On Friday, Sept. 24, the association will host the Spivey Mountain Boys in a free concert, as well as a car show, in the downtown district.
The concert will be from 7-9 p.m., and the car show will be from 6-10 p.m.
A donation is required to enter a car in the show.
