A Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency endorsed Hunter Education Class will be held at Erwin Town Hall Tuesday, Aug. 23, through Friday, Aug. 26, with the live firing exercise on Saturday, Aug. 27, for those who pass the written test on Friday.
All registrations for Hunter Education classes must be completed online prior to the first day of class at tnwildlife.org. Every person born on or after Jan. 1, 1969, before hunting, must possess, in addition to all other licenses and permits required, proof of satisfactory completion of an agency approved hunter education course.
Also if you were born on or after Jan. 1, 1969 you must possess proof of successful completion of a Hunter Education class before hunting in Tennessee.
Those under 10 years of age do not need a Hunter Education certificate, but must be accompanied by an adult at least 21 years of age, who must remain in a position to take immediate control of the hunting device.
Anyone wishing to participate in the class must be at least nine-years-old when the class starts. Follow the prompt for Hunter Education on the web page. Class begins each night at 6 p.m. The instructor is Jerry Hopson. For information, call 743-8754.
