This past week has really felt like fall and we were all glad to have a little less humidity and those cool nights and early mornings.
I don’t know about the rest of you but time seems to be flying by and the holidays will be here before we know it. This year may be a bit different but holidays are always special anyway.
Don’t forget to come by to see us soon to get a supply of reading material to go along with that extra cup of coffee. There are many books from which to choose. We’re here Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. till 6 p.m.
Today is Mrs. Selena Harmon’s first day in the library as our new director. After this week you will be reading her columns. We are so pleased to have her with us and I know you’ll want to make a special effort to get by and meet her.
Our Spotlight Book for this week is “Fair Warning” by Michael Connelly. Most of you know Connelly’s books as the “Harry Bosch” series. Harry is a retired policeman in the Los Angeles area and his cases are legendary. However, he also wrote “The Lincoln Lawyer” about an attorney, Mickey Haller, whose office is in his Lincoln Town Car. This new novel reintroduces a newspaper reporter, Jack McEvoy, who appeared in one of the Bosch stories and now has a case to solve all on his own.
Suspense is one of Connelly’s trademarks and you’ll find it hard to put this story down.
While we’re not quite sure how this year’s celebration will take place, we are hoping for at least some outside events for the children. In that regard, please bring any donations of wrapped candy to the library during October to help us with this expense. Thanks as always for your support!
