Come look for ‘creek critters’ at Rocky Fork on July 16

A salamander crawls over a patch of moss.

From Staff Reports

Join Seasonal Interpreter Alex Roberts on a hunt on Saturday, July 16, to see what kind of critters reside in Rocky Fork Creek at Lamar Alexander Rocky Fork State Park in Flag Pond.

Attendees will learn a little about some of the creek inhabitats while searching for salamanders, crawdads, insects and fish. This program is fun for all ages and free to the public. The park does accept donations to help maintain the trails and make improvements.

Attendees should meet in the gravel parking lot at 4 p.m.

Bring clothes and shoes that can get wet, a towel, water and snacks. If attendees have one, a net would also be useful. Children must be accompanied by an adult for this program.
