Fans of the iconic “Dukes of Hazzard” television show will get a chance to meet some of its biggest stars at Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, on Saturday, Oct. 3.

Hazzard Fest gives fans a chance to meet their heroes and to introduce a new generation to the hit television show in the age of COVID-19.

“This is a chance for people to get out and meet personalities from all types of genres,” Unicoi County native and promoter Alvin Casey said. “People are ready to get out.”

Actor and musician John Schneider, who played Bo Duke in “Dukes of Hazzard” recently sat down with The Erwin Record to discuss Hazzard Fest.

“We are looking forward to celebrating with fans of one of the greatest shows of all time in a time where the world has lost its mind,” Schneider said. “We are looking forward to bringing our brand, Cody McCarver will be with us. We will have wrestling icons, comedians, musicians, and several Dukes alum coming to East Tennessee. Myself and this crew are the types of people that live at the end of a dirt road, who prefer stars over lights, who prefer people and face to face meetings over computers. If you prefer conversations with a new friend, if you still get together for family meals, if you appreciate the sound of a great motor going by then you will have fun. If you are that type of person, this is the event for you.”

John Reinke of “Tiger King” fame will be at Hazzard Fest as well. Reinke will also make a special appearance at Union Street Taproom on Sunday, Oct. 4.

“I can’t wait to see East Tennessee and meet everyone,” Reinke said.

For more information and to purchase tickets to Sunday’s event, please visit and follow Union Street Taproom on Facebook.

Schneider will be playing triple duty on Saturday night.

“I will be performing with my band John Schneider & the Stars N’ Bars Band and we may even have my race car there,” Schneider said. “When I race, I go all open, all gas and no brakes in true Duke fashion.”

For fans that will make the pilgrimage out to Bulls Gap on Saturday, they can expect to talk to the same character they grew up.

“There’s a lot of Bo Duke in John Schneider and a lot of John Schneider in Bo Duke,” Schneider said. “It goes both ways.”

Schneider, who is currently appearing in Tyler Perry’s “The Haves and Have Nots” is taking time to visit East Tennessee while working on a solo film project.

“I’m currently doing color correction for ‘Stand On It,’ which is a movie that fans of ‘Smokey and the Bandit,’ will love,” Schneider said.

For more updates on Schneider’s work please follow John Schneider on Facebook, Twitter and Youtube.

“Everybody is welcome to come enjoy a day of music, comedy, meet and greets, car show, wrestling, dirt track racing, and much more,” Casey said. “Tickets are still available.”
