Shelton-Osborne Wedding

SHELTON-OSBORNE WEDDINGAmanda Ronee Shelton of Unicoi, TN. and Paul James Osborne, Jr. of Elizabethton, TN. were married on Saturday, May 7, 2016, at The Wedding Barn at Beck Mountain. Rev. Eugene Penland officiated at the 4:00 p.m. ceremony. Music was provided by Randall Shelton on guitar and Tom Eure on guitar and fiddle.

The bride is the daughter of Ronald and Robin Shelton of Unicoi. She is the granddaughter of the late Hoy and Edith Shelton and Hank and Laurene Powers.

The groom is the son of Paul and Becky Osborne of Elizabethton. He is the grandson of the late Rev. Carl Osborne and Myrtle Osborne and Rev. Clyde Floyd and Elinor Floyd.

The bride is employed at Mountain States Health Alliance. The groom is employed at Unicoi County Sheriff’s Department.

The decoration theme was rustic/country featuring blue mason jars with baby’s breath and an arch handmade by the bride’s father.

Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a Oleg Cassini lace tea-length wedding gown featuring cap sleeves, a boatneck and beautiful ivory beaded lace appliques.   She wore a small satin flower with a crystal center and pearl spray as her headdress.   She carried a springtime mixture of light pink roses and baby’s breath as her wedding bouquet.

Matron of honor was Jennifer McCloud and maid of honor was Patricia White. They wore turquoise lace dresses.   Donna Powers was a bridesmaid and she wore a turquoise lace dress. Chloe Gladden was also a bridesmaid and she wore a light pink dress. Stephanie and Rachel McCurry were flower girls. Braydon Alderson and Ryland Shelton were ring bearers.

Justin Pierce served as best man and Austin Osborne as right-hand man. Shawn Sluder and Alex Gladden served as groomsmen and Kevin McCloud as usher.

Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed a reception at The Wedding Barn at Beck Mountain.

Following their wedding trip to Charleston, S.C., the couple will reside in Unicoi, TN.

Bennett & Lamar wedding planned for July 2, 2016

The bride-elect is a 2010 graduate of Unicoi County High School. She is employed by Pal’s Fast Food as a cashier.

She is the granddaughter of Eleanor Wilson, Veneta, OR. and the late Russ Wilson of Veneta, OR. and the late T.J. and Nelle Bennett, Erwin.

The bride-elect is a member and attends Calvary Baptist Church in Erwin.

Her fiancé is a 2010 graduate of Unicoi County High School. He is employed by Polymer Industries as a turn-up manufacturer.

The bridegroom-elect is the grandson of Elizabeth Pyles, Johnson City and Jim Pyles, Bridgeport, W.V.

The bridegroom-elect attends Calvary Baptist Church in Erwin.

The couple plan to have the ceremony on July 2, 2016, at The Barn at Boone Falls, Johnson City, at 6:00 p.m.

Michael David McCurry — Tonya Kay Willis

Tonya Kay Willis and Michael David McCurry were united in marriage on Friday, July 23, 2010, at the Unicoi County Courthouse in Erwin. County Clerk Ruby McLaughlin officiated the 2 p.m. exchange of vows. The bride is the daughter of Mary Doty, Erwin. She is the granddaughter of Lish and Mildred Edney, Erwin. The groom is the son of David and Anna Lea McCurry, Erwin. He is the grandson of Ethel McCurry, Erwin, the late Loss McCurry, and the late Buford and Pansy Hobson Peterson. The couple took a wedding trip to Couples Negril Resort in Jamaica. They are residing in Erwin.

Eric Casey — Ruby Jean Bowman Scott

Ruby Jean Bowman Scott and Eric Casey were united in marriage on Oct. 9, 2010, at Erwin Church of God. Pastor John Edwards officiated the 2 p.m., double-ring ceremony. Music was provided by Eric Lingerfelt, guitarist. The bride is the daughter of Brenda Lewis, Erwin. She is the granddaughter of the late Clara and Merle Martin. The groom is the son of Richard and Candy Casey, Erwin. He is the grandson of the late Charles “Bill” Johnson, and Dorathea S. Johnson. The bride was given in marriage by her mother, and by her brother, Harry Bowman. Mickey Garland, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor. Becky Hensley and Kately Scott, daughters of the bride, were bridesmaids. Neveah Hensley was the flower girl. Ryder Casey, son of the groom, was the ring bearer. Richard Casey, father of the groom, was the best man. Groomsmen were Jake Holder and J.T. Bollinger. Following a private reception at the church pavilion, and an open reception at Erwin Elks Lodge, the couple took a wedding trip to Ruby Falls and Rock City. They are residing in Erwin.

Daniel Lee Broyles – Robin Michelle Byrd

Daniel Lee Broyles and Robin Michelle Byrd were united in marriage Saturday, June 5, 2010, at Cherry Grove Baptist Church. The Rev. Randy Bennett officiated the 3 p.m. exchange of vows. Music was provided by Myra Harris, pianist. The bride is the daughter of Cyle and Diana Byrd, 136 Cherry Grove Road, Jonesborough. Her grandparents are the late Lawrence and Velva Byrd and the late Olen and Norma Randolph. The groom is the son of Terry and Sandee Broyles, 260 J.D. Fox Road, Limestone. His grandparents are Ervin and Nina Shelton, Limestone, Lois Broyles, Limestone, and the late Quay Broyles. Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a soft candlelight matte satin strapless A-line gown with a soft matte satin truffle border. The gown was adorned with candlelight appliques of miniature pearls and sequins and featured a full, long skirt accented with a truffle brown border that extended around the gown. It was embellished with a corsette, back and long truffle sashes that cascaded down the back of the gown into a cathedral-length train. Her matching tiara featured candlelight leaves, truffle rosettes and clusters of diamonds. The veil was a double layer of soft candlelight tulle with edging of appliqued seed pearls and brown beads. She carried a bouquet of peach and white roses. Matron of honor was Wendy Tesnear, sister of the bride. She wore a champagne and ivory-colored A-line satin gown. Bridesmaids were Katie Britton and Terra Gouge, friends of the bride, and Kelsey Hope, the bride’s daughter. Katie and Terra wore peach A-line satin gowns featuring a truffle-colored ribbon at the waist. Kelsey wore a truffle-colored A-line satin gown. Bride’s attendants were her nieces, Samantha, Jessica, Kayla and Heather Tesnear. Flower girl was Laney Britton, and ring bearer was Lincoln Huskins. Best man was Terry Broyles. Groomsmen were Matt Tittle, Travis Miller and Jerry Wayne Mooney. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the church. The couple took a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Joseph Andrew Sneyd – Laura Brooke Casteel

Laura Brooke Casteel and Joseph Andrew Sneyd were married Saturday, June 19, 2010, at Light House for Jesus Church in Elizabethton. The Rev. Bill Younce officiated the 2 p.m. exchange of vows. Music was provided by Jacob Tipton, vocalist and pianist. The bride is the daughter of Douglas and Donna Smith, Elizabethton. She is the granddaughter of Raymond and Florence Willis, Johnson City, and Faith Smith, Elizabethton. The groom is the son of Lee and Linda Sneyd, Unicoi. He is the grandson of Charles and Charlotte Johnson, Erwin, Pleasey Sneyd, Unicoi, and the late Bertha Sneyd, and the late Horace and Bessie Johnson. Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a white gown embellished with lace and pearls featuring a skirt with a gathered waist that extended into a cathedral-length train. Diana Younce was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Brooke Estep and Kaylor Clifton. Emily Smith was the flower girl, and ring bearer was Hayden Johnson. Mark Austin served as best man. Groomsmen were Cody Neas and Lucas Woodward. Ushers were Caleb Smith and Andrew White. Following a reception at the church fellowship hall, the couple took a wedding trip to Charleston, S.C.

John Raineo officiated the 11 a.m., double-ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Linda Lowery, Johnson City, and the late Charles Bowman. She is the granddaughter of the late Robert and Emma Adams, and the late Harold and Gladys Bowman. The groom is the son of Hobart and Anne Roberts, Unicoi. He is the grandson of Irene Tolley, Unicoi, and the late Clarence Tolley, and Josie Roberts, Erwin, and the late Lester Roberts.

Mr. and Mrs. John Travis Diamond

Tamara Nicole Shelton and John Travis Diamond were united in marriage May 15, 2010, at the Chapel at the Preserve in Sevierville. The Rev. Jack Huesman officiated the 1 p.m., double-ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Michael and Flora Kay Shelton, Erwin. She is the granddaughter of Harmon and Charlene Shelton, Erwin and Douglas and Virginia Shelton, Erwin, and the late Reva Silvers and the late Naomi Shelton. Her fiance is the son of Roger Diamond, Bean Station, and Charlene Diamond, Rutledge. He is the grandson of Doris Diamond and the late John Diamond. The bride was given in marriage by her father. Maid of honor was Hannah Grace Collins, daughter of the bride. Best man was Roger Diamond, father of the groom. Following a reception at the Preserve Resort, the couple honeymooned in Pigeon Forge. They are residing in Erwin.

Music was provided by Mark Webb, Jenny and Allen Morefield, vocalists, and Velva Jones, organist. The bride is the daughter of Gary and Joyce Peterson, Erwin. She is the granddaughter of the late Gene and Kathleen Bowman, and the late Burnie and Evelyn Peterson. The groom is the son of Buster Bailey and Marie Angel. He is the grandson of Charles and Hazel Webb, Harold Bailey, and the late Louise Bailey. Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a white organza Aline gown with corset bodice and metallic lace appliqués and chapel train. Her white elbow length, one-tier veil with edges lined with metallic lace, was attached to a Galina oval crystal cluster comb. She carried a bouquet of gerber daisies, roses, greenery and her grandmother’s locket. Cheryl Mathes and Jennifer Harris were maids of honor. They wore short charmeuse watermelon colored dresses with ruched waist. They carried watermelon and orange colored gerber daisies. Bridesmaids were Stephanie Love, Deanna McIntosh, Carrie Wilson and Brittany Rice. Their dresses and flowers were identical to the maids of honor. Sara Thomas and Lacey Joyner were flower girls. Ring bearer was Justin King. The junior bridesmaid was Taylor Thomas. Toby Tipton was the junior groomsman. Mike Jones, Ben Ensor, Dustin Walden and Andy Brooks were groomsmen. Kenny Tinsley and Jonathan Keesecker were the best men. David Pardue and Robert Rice were ushers. Following a reception in the New Life Center at Unicoi United Methodist Church, the couple took a trip to Nassau, Bahamas. They are residing in Erwin.

Amy Elizabeth Tinker and David Andrew Bradley were united in marriage Feb. 6, 2010, at Erwin Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Steve Rembert officiated the 3 p.m., double-ring ceremony. Music was provided by Phyllis Bennett, pianist. The bride is the daughter of Ronald and Beverly Tinker, Unicoi. She is the granddaughter of Dorothy Fortune, Erwin, and the late Sam Fortune, and Beatrice Tinker, Unicoi, and the late Dick Tinker. The groom is the son of James H. Bradley, Johnson City, and the late Myrtle Sue Bradley. He is the grandson of the late Francis and Sue Bradley, and the late Roy and Margaret Suites. Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a strapless full length A-line chiffon gown with side draped bodice, beaded lace and lace-up back with a sweep train. Erin Tinker, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor. April Leonard, Mandie Hendrix and Tammy Davis were bridesmaids. Kimberly Fortune attended the bride’s book. Victoria Tipton, Emily Tipton and Mary Beth Bradley were flower girls. Zak Davis was the ring bearer. Jason Barnes was the best man. Jason Shelton, Spencer Jones and Jason Zimmerman were groomsmen. Following a reception in the fellowship hall of the church, the couple took a ski trip to Lake Tahoe, Calif. They are residing in Gray.

The church was decorated with hot pink and orange daisies. Music was provided by Twelve Gates Youth Ministry. The bride is the daughter of Tim and Wanda Hughes, and Donna and Chris Atkins. She is the granddaughter of Genevieve Tipton and the late Edward Tipton, and Faye Hughes and the late Clyde Hughes. The groom is the son of Ray Woodward and Polly Woodward, and Dorothy Metcalf and Grover Metcalf. He is the grandson of the late Jake and Minnie Woodward. The bride was given in marriage by her father. Kim Tipton was the matron of honor. The flower girl was McKenzie Tipton. Blake Richardson was the best man. The usher was Josh Love. Kahla Jeanette June Carter and Lance Corp. Michael Dwayne Carmon, were united in marriage Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, in Gatlinburg. The Rev. Clifford Negrete officiated the double-ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Janet King Carter, Erwin, and the late Eric Foster Carter. She is the granddaughter of Edna King, Flag Pond, the late Jerrel King, and the late Frank and June Carter. The groom is the son of Anna Carmon, Johnson City, and Donnie Carmon, Clarksville. He is the grandson of Betsy Cole, Johnson City, and great-grandson of Brenda Surber, Johnson City. The groom is stationed at Camp Pendleton, Calif. A reception in honor of the couple will be held in Erwin at a later date.

Amy Hsu and Daniel Ian Fain were united in marriage Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009, at Wyche Pavilion in Greenville, S.C. Ryan Moss officiated the 6 p.m., double-ring ceremony held in the open-air Wyche Pavilion along the Reedy River in downtown Greenville. The bride is the daughter of Chien and Pen Hsu, Charleston, S.C. She is the granddaughter of Yung-Fang, Seattle, Wash., and the late Han-Ching Hsu, Yuan-Hsi, and Yue-Ting Yeh. The groom is the son of Charles and April Fain, Unicoi. He is the grandson of the late Bill and Ruth Fain and the late Louis and Peggy Kerns. Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a strapless, beaded silk gown. Her veil was simple tulle with beading around the end. She carried a nosegay of white orchids mixed with pink and white roses. Ann Hsu Kaufman was the matron of honor, and Angel Hsu was the maid of honor. They wore tea-length gowns of blue silk and carried nosegay bouquets of pink and white roses. Sarah Fain Bailey and Ashley Roe were bridesmaids. Their gowns and flowers were identical to those worn and carried by the honor attendants. Rayna Wuh and Sarah Wuh were flower girls. Aaron Fain was the best man. Groomsmen were Tim Bailey, Landon Ayers and Tom Kelley. Following a reception at Larkins on the River, the couple took a wedding trip to Hawaii. They are residing in Charlotte, N.C.
