From Staff Reports
Love Your Body Day will be observed at East Tennessee State University on Tuesday, Feb. 13, with a line-up of activities planned to help participants celebrate their bodies and selves, just as they are.
The observance is part of National Eating Disorder Awareness Week. According to the National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA), 30 million Americans struggle with full-blown eating disorders, while millions more battle food and body images that have negative impacts on their lives. The NEDA coordinates the annual awareness week to encourage these individuals to seek the help and support they need.
ETSU’s Love Your Body Day will bring businesses and professionals from across campus and the Johnson City community together to provide services and goods related to self-care. Participants may enjoy free massages, food, body paint, yoga, relaxation activities, door prizes and more from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. in the D.P. Culp University Center ballroom.
This free event is sponsored by OASIS (Outreach and Advocacy Sexuality Information for Students).
