Conrad A. Keesecker -
Conrad A. Keesecker passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, March 21, 2015. He was born in Erwin, TN. Conrad was a graduate of Mars Hill College, East Tennessee State University, and earned his Masters in Education from Old Dominion University. He was a high school teacher and coach for Newport News Public Schools for 29 years. He loved gardening and was an avid tennis player and golfer. Conrad raised strawberries off of Harpersville Road for over 10 years and was well known as the "Strawberry Guy."
Nellie Tapp Lewis -
Nellie Tapp Lewis, age 90, of Erwin, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at the Center on Aging and Health. She was a native of Unicoi County and a daughter of the late Frank and Rachel Jones Tapp. Mrs. Lewis retired from Crystal Cleaners and was a member of Fishery Community Church. In addition to her parents, Nellie is preceded in death by her husband R.L. Lewis, one son, Ronald “Bud” Lewis and wife, Jackie, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Edith B. "Granny" Shelton -
Edith B. "Granny" Shelton, age , 96, 115 Edith Shelton Road, Unicoi went to be with her Lord on Saturday, March 21, 2015. She lived most of her life in Unicoi County. Mrs. Shelton was a daughter of the late Elisha and Dora Norton Shelton. She was a homemaker and a former employee of Appalachian Garment. Mrs. Shelton was a charter member of Memorial Union Church. She was a loving wife, mother and Granny. Mrs. Shelton prayed daily for all her children and loved ones.Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-seven years, Hoy Shelton; one son, Hardy Shelton; one daughter, Charlotte Williams; one grandson, Ronnie Dwayne Shelton; one great granddaughter, Crystal Barnett; four brothers and three sisters.
Eugene "Gene" Foster -
Eugene "Gene" Foster, age 75, 116 Meadowbrook Drive, Erwin, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2015 in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital, Elizabethton. He was a lifelong resident of Unicoi County and a son of the late Avery and Essie Deaton Foster. Mr. Foster retired in 2005 from Hoover Ball after thirty-eight and one half years of employment. He was a member of Fellowship Freewill Baptist Church where he had served as pianist for twenty-one years. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, infant Dwight Foster and Ralph Hughes.
Ronald Dean Robison -
Ronald Dean Robison (Ronnie), 46 years old, passed away March 10, 2015 in Phoenix, Arizona. He was born in Adrian, Michigan on December 11, 1968. He is survived by his son and pride and joy, Dallas Dean Robison of Onsted, Michigan, his father, Rickey Ray Robison of Garner, North Carolina, his mother, Mary Jane Tipton and step-father, Gary L. Tipton of Erwin, Tennessee, his brother and best friend, Rickey Ray Robison Jr. of Gilbert, Arizona, brothers Ryan Allen Robison of El Mirage, Arizona, Jonathan David Robison of Scottsdale, Arizona, Aaron Lee Robison of Grand Rapids, Michigan, sister Sheila Lynn Jacobson of Garner, North Carolina, and his 5 nieces and 4 nephews. Ronnie was preceded in death by his fraternal grandparents, Herbert and Ruby Robison, and his maternal grandparents, Ernest and Helen Robinette, and his favorite Uncle, Rick Robinette. Ronnie was known for his big heart, cheerful smile, contagious laugh, his love for music, and his dedication to his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys. He was a talented writer and creative artist, with a passion for writing poetry. A memorial service will be held March 28, 2 PM at Princeton Free Will Baptist Church, 104 Water Street, Johnson City, Tennessee.
