Marie M. Greene -
Marie M. Greene, age 89, of Erwin, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was a native of Riceville, TN and a daughter of the late Hugh M. and Della M. Wilson Greene. Mrs. Greene retired from Levi Strauss as a supervisor. Marie was a member of Ninth Street Baptist Church where she taught children in the middle school Sunday school class, served on various committees and was a member of the Gleaners Sunday school class. Mrs. Greene was an avid gardener, loved her family and enjoyed butterflies. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ray in 1990, Sister Ina Bell and Brothers Virgil Greene and David Greene.

Jackie “Jack” Paul Campbell -
Jackie “Jack” Paul Campbell, age 65, of Erwin, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 17, 2015, at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was a native of Unicoi County and a son of the late Zack and Grace Pratt Campbell. Jack served in the United States Navy during Vietnam on board of the USS John F. Kennedy CV-67 Air Force Carrier. He retired after 37 years of service from the CSX Railroad where he was a machinist and federal inspector. He loved his work and his work family. Jack was an avid bluegrass “picker and grinner.” He was a very outgoing person that never met a stranger and was a very selfless person always willing and desiring to help others. It has been said that he had a heart bigger than he himself. Jack was a member of First Baptist Church of Erwin. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by a brother, Tommy Deaton.

Jeanetta Harris Young -
Jeanetta Harris Young, 87, passed away at her home in Spring Hill, Florida Thursday, May 14, 2015. Jeanetta was born October 8, 1927 in Erwin, Tennessee, the only daughter of the late Roy and Dollie Tinker Harris. Mrs. Young graduated from Unicoi County High School in 1945 and was awarded a scholarship to attend Nashville Business College. She worked for several financial institutions including the former Erwin National Bank and Citizens’ Bank of Maryland. After her marriage to Charles William Young in 1950, Jeanetta and her husband moved to the suburbs of Washington, D.C. where they lived for over 40 years. Upon retirement, Jeanetta and Charles moved to Surfside Beach, S.C. where they spent many enjoyable years at their lakeside home. They moved to Spring Hill, Florida in 1999. Both she and her husband were known to be a very friendly and outgoing couple who enjoyed spending time with their family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles William Young in August 2009 and by two brothers, Herbert and Eugene Harris. She has left behind to cherish her memory her one daughter, Teresa Kay McNeil; three sons, Charles Anthony, Christopher Todd and Timothy Dwayne Young; One brother, Lawrence Harris; Five grandchildren, Justin and Jennifer McNeil, Jessica McNeil Brennan and Samantha and Rebecca Young; One great grandson, Colton Brennan.

Dan Shehan -
Dan Shehan died on Sunday, May 3rd, after a short but courageous battle with cancer.
