The Erwin Record will host their annual Record of Service Awards April 3 and is once again asking the community to nominate groups and individuals who work hard to improve their community. The Record of Service Awards were first given last year as community-appreciation honors given to individuals or groups who make a difference in the lives of Unicoi Countians. Individuals must be a Unicoi County residents, a county native or employed at a business in Unicoi County. “As the community’s newspaper for nearly 80 years, The Erwin Record often champions, through the printed word and photographs, the people and groups who work diligently to make the Valley Beautiful a better place,” said Mark A. Stevens, the newspaper’s publisher. “The purpose of the Record of Service Awards is to officially, through a ceremony and dinner, honor our community’s deserving employees, volunteers and philanthropists.
