Mr. and Mrs. Roy “Boots” Day

Mr. and Mrs. Roy “Boots” Day, 503 Old Stage Road, Erwin, will celebrate their 67th wedding anniversary Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010.

The Days were married Jan. 20, 1943, in Elizabethton by the Rev. W.S. Brackney.

Mr. Day is retired from the Clinchfield Railroad. He is a member of the Erwin Masons and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, serving during World War II.

He enjoys yard work.

Mrs. Day, the former Mary Peterson, is retired from Parks-Belk Department Store.

The couple are members at Fishery Community Church.

They enjoy playing with their dogs, Panda and Frisky and sharing life with one another.

They are the parents of Millard Day, Lenoir City, Johnny Day, Erwin, Greg Day, Greenville, S.C., Steve Day, Erwin, and the late Bobby Day. They have nine grandchildren, Angela Louise Hensley, Melinda Kay Webster, Jeannie Cantrell, Christy Overbey, Jamie Day, Kelly Day, Jessica Day, Kathleen Day and Edson Day; and seven great-grandchildren, Adam Webster, Taylor Webster, Morgan Cantrell, Vivian Cantrell, Jordan Overbey, Emily Overbey and Hayden Overbey.
